Hello Friends~
As we begin the shift of Ordinary Time towards the penance of Lent, we celebrate holy joy and deep communion at the Feast Day of St. Scholastica. We remember St. Scholastica’s lesson, “it is the heart’s desire that moves God most.” May your “Holy Persistence” carry you through a fruitful and peaceful lent.
May God grant you your prayers and desires this week and beyond. Please let the parish staff know how we can serve you!
God Bless ~ Frs. Mark & Juan Jose, and your Parish

You are the true backbone of St. Scholastica Parish! As we celebrate our patron saint and strive to mirror her faith, let’s join together and enjoy the best piece of our parish family, You.

The 2026 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal has begun! The Diocese of Joliet invites all parishioners to support the 2026 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA). Together, we can make a profound difference. This year’s theme is Beyond all Expectations: Faith that Elevates! Through the CMAA, we ensure Christ’s mission and ministries reach everyone. We provide shelter for the homeless, feed the hungry, support vocations, and educate the next generation of Catholics. Our parish cannot accomplish this alone. As a diocese, we can do so much more. Our parish goal is $105,000. We receive 70% of any amount raised over goal to use within our parish. Please review your mailing from the Diocese of Joliet and prayerfully reflect on your gift to this year’s appeal. If you do not receive a CMAA mailing, please contact the parish office. Thank you!

St. Scholastica and her brother lived by a beautiful conviction, that when we open our doors to a stranger, we are opening our hearts to God. Our Hospitality Ministry carries out this sacred duty not only on Hospitality Sundays, but at many events throughout the year. As the “first smile” at our doors, they remind us that we are more than just a congregation, we are a family. This spirit of welcome is a collective effort, made possible by all of you who generously donate baked good and supplies to enhance our time together. Thank you to those who set up, serve, and clean up at our gatherings. Thank you for all or your donations, you always answer the ‘ask’ so quickly. Thank you to all the warm smiles, greetings and conversations. We are forever grateful for this ‘best piece’ of our community. To learn more or to join this vital mission, contact Marlene Clark at (224) 531-2622 or the parish office.

We are overflowing with gratitude for the incredible volunteers who jumped into action for our neighbors affected by the recent apartment fire. It was heartwarming to watch so many of you who gathered on Saturday morning to provide help and hope. Thank you for being the hands and feet of our community.
