We Are Moving To Online Registration for RE!
|
Thank you for your patience as we worked through building the database and website for our new Online Registration Process. We have a few more small kinks to work through before we go live but I can confirm we will definitely go live next week! When RE Registration goes live next week, a communication will be sent out via an EVA newsletter blast, social media, and through the Church Bulletin.

MARCH & APRIL BIRTHDAYS
God bless you on your special day—may it be filled with joy, laughter, and many blessings!
|
Mrs. Dedowicz and Mrs. Lopez’s 1st Grade class had so much fun during their last days of Religious Education playing Catholic Jeopardy and Catholic Bingo! The students loved reviewing everything they learned this year — from prayers and Bible stories to learning more about God’s love and how to live like Jesus each day. The classroom was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of excitement as the kids worked together and showed off all they remembered. What a wonderful way to wrap up a great year of faith, friendship, and fun. Great job, 1st Grade — we are so proud of you!

Mrs. Neuner and Mrs. Holub’s 2nd Grade class accomplished so much this year and worked so hard preparing for their Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. We are so proud of all they learned and how much they grew in their faith this year! The class wrapped up their year with bubbles, playtime, and fun outside enjoying God’s beautiful creation as summer gets closer. It was the perfect way to celebrate a wonderful year together filled with faith, friendship, and lots of smiles. God bless them always, and congratulations on a great year in RE!

Mrs. Adamski & Mrs. Walsh’s 3rd Grade class ended the year with a bang! The students wrapped up the year by collecting Birthday Party Kits for children in need through the West Suburban Community Pantry. After learning about being the Body of Christ and caring for others, the students truly put their faith into action by giving back and sharing joy with children less fortunate than themselves. What a beautiful way to end the year — showing kindness, gratitude, and God’s love for others. We are so proud of our 3rd Graders!

Mr. and Mrs. Stillwell’s 4th Grade class had quite the year as they took a deep dive into the Ten Commandments and all the important lessons that come with them. They worked so hard all year long, so it was wonderful to spend the last day reviewing their faith and then celebrating together with games and fun in the gym!
You could hear the cheers and laughter all the way down the hallway — even Mrs. Gamino had to stop in to see what all the excitement was about and ended up getting challenged to a game of jump rope! (She lost obviously!)
We are so proud of our 4th Graders and all the hard work they put into growing in their faith this year! Great Job 4th Grade!!!

I “Mustache” You a Few Questions! 😄 Mrs. Burch and Mrs. Decker’s class wrapped up the year with a fun “mustache” review game of everything they learned together. The students had a great time answering questions, laughing, and showing off how much they remember from the year.
What a fun and joyful way to end the year — we are so proud of all their hard work and growth in RE! Amazing job 5th grade!

Heifer International is a global nonprofit organization that works to end hunger and poverty by helping families become self-sufficient. Instead of simply giving food or money, Heifer provides livestock such as goats, chickens, cows, and other resources to families in need around the world. These animals can provide milk, eggs, wool, income, and opportunities for families to build a better future for themselves. One of the beautiful parts of Heifer International is that families are encouraged to “pass on the gift” by sharing offspring or resources with other families in their community, creating a ripple effect of hope and generosity.
Mrs. Mimnaugh’s 7th Grade class chose to support this mission by collecting over $100 to donate a goat to a village in Africa! The students loved learning how one simple act of generosity could truly change a family’s everyday life. We are incredibly proud of them for thinking outside the box, recognizing the blessings they have, and choosing a service project that reflects compassion, faith, and care for others around the world! Great Job 7th Grade! We are so proud of you!!

We ended the RE year with a joyful potluck celebration for our Catechists and their families. It was such a beautiful afternoon of fellowship, laughter, and gratitude as we gathered together to give thanks for this incredible ministry.
Our Catechists give so generously of their time and hearts all year long—preparing lessons, eagerly showing up week after week, and faithfully planting seeds of faith in our children. We are truly grateful for their selfless service, and just as importantly, for their families who support and encourage them in all they do!
It was a wonderful way to close out the year together—full of appreciation, community, and joy! Thank you for all you do!!!

The International Pilgrim Image will be at St. Scholastica Catholic Church from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM before returning to its regular tour schedule in Cincinnati. The event will include a Eucharistic procession, allowing us to center ourselves in Christ while honoring the Blessed Mother. As a reminder, “Santacruzan” (Holy Cross) is a Filipino tradition /procession ( mostly kids / teens) honoring the finding of the True Cross by Queen Helena.
Children of St. Scholastica who have recently received First Holy Communion are invited to come in their communion dress for the procession!
