As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension, we are reminded that Christ’s departure from the physical world was not an ending, but a profound expansion of his ministry. By ascending to the right hand of the Father, he broke the boundaries of time and geography, transforming a localized mission into a universal call. While traditionally observed on Thursday, our diocese celebrates this feast on Sunday, allowing our entire community to gather and reflect on this pivotal moment in the Paschal Mystery.
We see this mission come to life within our own parish as we strive to be the “hands and feet” of Christ. Whether we are hosting celebrations such as Santacruzan, joining together for our upcoming Multilingual Mass, welcoming littles to Vacation Bible School, or building fellowship at our annual Parish Picnic, we embody the spirit of the Ascension. These moments of worship and connection promote the Word of God and strengthen our community, ensuring that the light of Christ continues to spread, starting right here in our own backyard.
